What is important when you choose a garment for below your waist is to choose a thick fabric. If you’re in winter, pick flannel, pick tweed, and pick wool, you know, like thick wool. Also you can pick jeans or you can put things that are really thick. Why is that? Because basically if a garment has already a thick fabric and has a shape of its own, it’s not going to hug your body shape. And that is going to make all the difference because it’s going to you know skim right over your curves instead of hugging them. So that’s what you’re looking for.

For the top, on the contrary, you want things that are going to hug your body and so you can put light flowers or silk or you know, how do you call it, knit wool instead of like thick wool. And so all these kinds of materials are going to adapt to your body shape on top and make it look thinner than it already is.

Let’s move on to colors and textures. The name of the game here is that you want the eye of the people who are seeing you; you want the eye to focus upwards. So, if they’re seeing you from head to toe you want their eye to go to your upper half. So the way you achieve this is by putting the things that are worth looking at upwards. So for example, the eye is attracted by shiny stuff so you can pick for example silk for up top or you can pick you know like bright colors like red or like vibrant blue or you can pick patterns like polka dots or stripes or any kind of patterns you can put it on top.Style Tips for Pear Shape Body By Colors and Textures

Also any kind of sparkles, any kind of you know like little studs or anything like that, that you might have, you stick to your shirt. Never ever put this kind of thing on your bottom half. Also, one thing that you can do that’s, I’m going to show you a picture of Beyoncé doing it very well is flaunt your decountee, your cleavage because it’s going to like any patch of naked skin is going to attract the eye to it. And so basically, wearing a v-neck for example, that’s a really good option because it shows some skin and so basically the eye is attracted to it. Or you can go the way out like Beyoncé does in this picture.

One thing you can also do like for example Beyoncé in this next picture, is to wear like a jacket on top of your outfit or something and it’s going to attract the eye upwards also especially if the jacket is in another color. Like for example, one thing that like to do is to wear all black, tee shirt and pants and then a Bobbitt, a little jacket that stops at the waist and the jacket can be beige or red or any color or it can have studs or big buttons or something. And so this is going to create interest in color and balance on the top half and still it’s going to show off that you have a waist, that you have a thin upper body and so that’s going to look really good.
